Gathering

Welcome – Cam

Call to worship

L: In the days to come, the mountain of God’s house

        will be established as the highest of the mountains

        and raised above all other hills;

        all nations will stream toward it.

P: Many people will come and say,

        “Come, let us climb God’s mountain;

        that we may be instructed in God’s ways

        and walk in God’s paths.”

        For out of Zion will go forth instruction,

        and the word of God from Jerusalem.

L: God will judge between the nations,

        and render decisions for many countries;

P: They will beat their nuclear bombs into plowshares,

        and their guns into gardening tools;

        nation will not raise weapons against nation,

        and never again will they train for war.

All: May we be co-creators with God

        in making that day a reality.

        May it begin today. Let us worship God!

Refugee sponsorship opportunity

Mennonite Central Committee Ontario has asked Welcome the Stranger-GTA to consider sponsoring a refugee family. MCCO would provide the funds needed for the sponsorship.  The WtS Committee wants to discern the capacity of our supporting churches for new volunteers to take on the leadership and sponsorship tasks. Please speak to your WtS Committee representatives if you would like to discuss this further or contact Andrew. Thank you.

Prayer Concerns

MCEC

Please pray for the MCEC community of congregations; this week we hold Église Mennonite Agape in prayer.  Jean-Ematiel Bossicot, along with their congregation leaders, provide leadership to this congregation located in Drummondville, Quebec.  Pray for this congregation as they preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and put gospel into action in their under-resourced neighbourhood.

Lord, in a world filled with uncertainty and turmoil, we ask for Your peace to calm every anxious heart and heal every divided place. Help us to choose compassion over conflict and to be instruments of Your love in our communities this week. May Your presence bring hope, unity and renewal to our hurting world.

Mennonite World Conference

Thank God for a peaceful early election in March 2026 and the formation of a new government. However, reform is far from completed. As of late around 100 churches in the capital city of Kathmandu had been demolished under the order of the newly sworn-in prime minister. Churches are now under attack in the name of reform. So please pray for the persecuted Christians to be strong in their faith, and for communal peace.
