ALL: God dearly loves us,
and through Christ left us an example,
that we might follow in his footsteps.
Christ is the light
that has come into the world;
may God grant that this light
shine around you,
and that you walk in it. Amen.

Prayer Concerns
MCEC in Prayer
Please pray for the MCEC community of congregations. This week we are praying for Bethany Mennonite Church. Herb Sawatzky provides pastoral leadership for this community. Pray for this congregation in Virgil, ON as they follow their mission of serving each other and the world.
Please pray for peace and wisdom for government and military leaders in Thailand and Cambodia as tensions escalate with land mines and aerial bombardments in the region. Tom and Christine Poovong, MC Canada International Witness Workers, ask for your prayers as they again host evacuees. They have been told to be on stand-by for possible evacuation.
Christians in Palestine are entering the Advent season with great trepidation. In Gaza, military incursions and blockage of aid continue. In the West Bank and East Jerusalem, attacks are increasing. Pray for resilience, hope and bold witness in the face of violence.
Mennonite World Conference
We ask brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for the situation in Cuba. In our country, even before the hurricane hit, we were experiencing worsening power outages sometimes for up to three days. No cooking can be done without power, because we also have a gas shortage. Meanwhile, buying food is expensive and economic resources are few. The people are exhausted. Many people are choosing to leave. May God show the way to resolve this, and may God’s peace dwell in God’s people even in these difficult circumstances.
