Order of Service

Gathering

Welcome – Karen

Call to worship (VT 448)

        Here is my servant, the one I uphold,

        my chosen, in whom I delight.

        I have put my spirit upon my servant

        to bring justice to the nations;

        who will not shout or cry out,

        or be heard in the street;

        who will not break a bruised reed,

        or put out a smoldering wick.

        In faithfulness, my servant

        will bring forth justice.

Reading of Will you let me be your servant (VT 778 v. 1&2)

        Will you let me be your servant – let me be Christ to you?

        Pray that I may have the grace to let you be my servant too.

        We are pilgrims on a journey, we are travellers on the road.

        We are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the load.

        I will hold the Christ-light for you in the night-time of your fear.

        I will hold my hand out to you, speak the peace you long to hear.

Will you let me be your servant – let me be Christ to you?

        Pray that I may have the grace to let you be my servant too.

Prayer Concerns

MCEC in prayer

Please pray for the MCEC community of congregations. This week we pray for Breslau Mennonite Church. Bruce Yoder began serving as Intentional Interim Pastor on January 4, 2026. Pray for Bruce and the congregation as they learn to know one another and as they worship and serve together during this time of transition.

God of mercy, we pray for peace in our world, especially in places burdened by conflict, fear and violence. Bring healing where war has torn communities apart, and strengthen all who work for justice, reconciliation and safety. May your peace take root in every troubled region and in every human heart.

Mennonite World Conference

Mennonite World Conference calls on all its members to join in prayer for our sisters and brothers in Venezuela.
