Danforth MC
The Danforth Mennonite Church is sponsoring a family of three in collaboration with Toronto United Mennonite Church. This refugee family are relatives of a participant at Danforth Church. As a smaller congregation Danforth is seeking financial assistance for about $10,000 to help meet their share of the cost of the sponsorship. Welcome the Stranger-GTA Sponsorship Committee is wrapping up its refugee resettlement work and cannot take on new resettlement tasks. However some of the WtS supporting congregations, like Danforth, may take on new refugee applications separate from WtS. The WtS Sponsorship Committee has approved this church bulletin announcement that individuals who wish to donate to the Danforth Mennonite Church refugee resettlement of this family should send their donation to : Danforth Mennonite Church 2174 Danforth Ave, Toronto, Ontario. Prayer Concerns
MCEC in prayer
Please pray for the MCEC community of congregations. This week we are praying for Bloomingdale Mennonite Church. Zac Klassen provides pastoral leadership for this community. Pray for this congregation as they follow their call to a dynamic relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
We pray for peace in our world, asking for compassion and understanding in the face of violence and fear. We especially remember Australia and those affected by the recent shooting. We pray for comfort for the injured, those who lost loved ones, first responders and all who are affected by this tragedy. God, make us channels of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us bring Your love.
Mennonite World Conference
We praise God for a successful pastors’ annual general meeting of BIC Zambia. As a church we are working to plant more churches in areas where we are yet to have ministries. Please pray that God will give us wisdom and guidance in our evangelism and church planting work.
