Welcome – Karen

Opening prayer

Call to worship

All: We come to worship.

One: With expectations that may or may not be met;

with questions that might be answered;

and answers that might be questioned.

All: We come seeking God.

One: Seeking a taste of truth;

seeking a glimpse of divine presence;

seeking to make sense of the world.

All: We come to journey with Jesus,

One: and allow ourselves to be disarmed and inspired,

moved and confused

by the Spirit of Christ among us and within us.

All: Let us worship God.

Prayer Concerns

MCEC in prayer

Please pray for the MCEC community of congregations. This week we pray for Church of the Living Word in Ottawa, ON. Getachew Woldeyes provides pastoral support for this congregation. Pray for them as they minister in our nation’s capital city.

Please pray for the Matu people and others who are struggling in Myanmar. They are being bombed every day and many people are injured and have lost their lives. Pray for them as they survive in horrible circumstances. May the God of Peace bring order out of chaos. Pray also for the people of Kitchener Emmanuel Church who are from that area of Myanmar and for the Chin Christian Church, as they are concerned for family and friends living in Myanmar. Lord hear our prayer.

God of peace, let your harmony take root in our hearts, so that the healing we long to see in the world may begin within each of us. Guide our steps so that we walk gently with one another, choosing compassion, justice, and understanding in every moment. Make us instruments of your enduring peace.

Mennonite World Conference

Pray for the sustainability of Mennonite Church Uganda. We need volunteers to join us in this important work and offer a helping hand. Pray also for the war refugees from DRC that are coming into Uganda. May God provide them with a supportive community, hope, and strength to carry on with their lives.
