Mark your calendars for our Spring Clean-up Day on May 9
Our annual spring work bee with our church partners will be held on Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to 1 pm (including a BBQ lunch.) We have jobs indoors and out for volunteers of all ages. Please let Reynold or Joanna know if you are planning to come and what areas you are interested in working in.
Prayer Concerns
MCEC
Please pray for the MCEC community of congregations; this week we hold Église Jésus-Christ Appelle Tous in prayer. Pastors Cyprien Muteleke Kibukila, Eloco Aoci Jerome and Maarifa Mutudu provide pastoral leadership for this congregation. Pray for this congregation composed primarily of immigrants and refugees from Swahili speaking countries in East Africa as they seek to be a church for all people (Jesus Christ Calls All).
God of peace, amid the recent waves of violence, loss and unrest unfolding across our world, we come before you seeking your steadying presence. Hold close all who are grieving, fearful or displaced, and soften hearts where anger and division have taken root. May your peace take hold in communities and nations, guiding us toward compassion, restraint and hope.
Mennonite World Conference
Pray for Cuba and their worsening situation due to fuel shortages that started when the government of the USA blocked oil supplies. Fuel shortages harm healthcare, water services and food distribution, deepening the humanitarian crisis and causing suffering especially for the most vulnerable. Pray that much needed supplies will reach the island nation quickly. Pray that amid the stress of shortages added to rebuilding after November’s hurricane and more severe weather, people would take care of each other, sharing resources like the boy with five loaves and two fish so that everyone has enough.
